PoteCard is operated by Sisimizi Guild Ltd. This page describes, in plain terms, what we collect and why.
We store your name and email from Google sign-in, and the optional phone number you add to your own account. Your email, phone, and Google account identifier are encrypted at rest in our database. We don't collect or store passwords.
The photo you upload is sent to Anthropic's Claude API to extract text and colors, then discarded from that process; the extracted details and your uploaded photo are stored so your card can be published and re-scanned. Unlike your account details above, the contact details and business information you choose to put on your card (phone, email, links, etc.) are stored and displayed as plain text — that's the point of a public card, since anyone viewing it needs to read them.
Public card pages don't use cookies or track visitors individually. Scan analytics (available on paid plans) are based on: a same-day hash of the visitor's IP address, immediately discarded after hashing, used only to count "unique visitors" without identifying anyone; a coarse device type (mobile/tablet/desktop) inferred from the browser's user-agent string; and, where configured, an approximate country derived from the visitor's IP via an offline lookup, without sending that IP to any third party.
Paid plans are billed via M-Pesa through a third-party payment gateway; we don't store your M-Pesa PIN or full payment card details (we don't take cards at all).
